چکیده

Abstract Group awareness is of critical relevance for collaborative learning and interaction thus often referred to in CSCL research. However, the concept only vaguely defined as some kind understanding or perception characteristics partners collaborating group. Most research activities concerned with group aim at modifying learners' using so-called tools. there are much less attempts measure conceptualize its formation. Thus, building on existing research, this article derives a conceptualization six defining aspects awareness: (1) cognitive, (2) conscious, (3) current, (4) individual, (5) social, (6) perceived valid. Additionally, while it assumed that builds self-regulatory skills, role regulating behavior cognition within social context seldom explored. aims analyzing awareness, specifying relation regulatory processes, sketching possible paths whilst on, complementing, informing tool-driven

Providing Group Knowledge Awareness in Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning: Insights into Learning Mechanisms

In collaboration, group knowledge awareness (i.e. being informed about the partners’ knowledge) is used to effectively communicate and to efficiently coordinate interaction. Computer-mediated collaboration impairs the establishment of group knowledge awareness. Technological support for group knowledge awareness can compensate for this shortcoming and is realized in a group knowledge awareness ...

Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning

omputer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) is an area of the learning sciences. It is concerned with studying how people can learn together with the help of computers. As we will see in this chapter, such a simple statement conceals considerable complexity. The interplay of learning with technology turns out to be quite intricate. The inclusion of collaboration, computer mediation and dist...

Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning

This article provides a summary of research and developments in the field of computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL). We argue that the contribution of CSCL to vocational training comprises a set of ideas that actually prove relevant beyond CSCL to encompass the whole field of training technologies. Collaborative learning, with or without computers, is not a recipe that automatically l...

Collaborative group engagement in a computer-supported inquiry learning environment

Computer-supported collaborative learning environments provide opportunities for students to collaborate in inquiry-based practices to solve authentic problems, using technological tools as a resource. However, we have limited understanding of the quality of engagement fostered in these contexts, in part due to the narrowness of engagement measures. To help judge the quality of engagement, we e...
